Are you ready for Summer and Shaggin’ on the Pier? Yes! Dust off those Dancin’ Shoes! Live music of all varieties will fill the air with local bands. Fri, May 13 ~ The Mount Pleasant Pier will be rockin’ with the sounds of DJ Jim Bowers as he plays a variety of line dancing hits, unforgettable oldies, and beach music classics!
Sat, May 14 ~ Come out and enjoy scenic views of the Charleston Harbor while dancing to live classic oldies and beach music. All ages are invited to let loose, breathe in the ocean breeze and dance the night away under the stars.
Fri, May 27 ~ Shag the night away at the Folly Beach Pier, where DJ Jim Bowers will be spinning the hottest oldies and beach music classics. Not just your typical wooden pier, this breathtaking landmark stretches out 1045’ into the sparkling Atlantic Ocean and offers spectacular views, fishing, dining, tournaments, special events, and more throughout the year! Gates open at 7pm, and the music begins at 8pm.

From Sheep to Shawl ~ Middleton Place ~ 05/07/2016
Experience a wild and wooly time, and witness the annual Sheep Shearing Demonstrations, at Middleton Place. The flock will be shorn between 10am and 3pm. Interpreters will demonstrate how it has been done, in past times, with steel bladed hand shears. The Event is FREE with Plantation and Garden Admission. The Gulf Coast Breed is rare and historic. Brought to the Southeastern United States, by the Spanish, in the 1500s, for wool, meat and commercial production – the breed adapted well to the hot and humid conditions of the Southeastern United States.
